natural living plants used in water treatment?I?
I want to rig my laundry facility to an artificial pond. Since the water used in doing laundry is only contaminated by soap (and whatever dirt is in the laundry itself) I think the water is not too polluted for pond use, but I still figure I need to filter it before dumping it in the pond. So if you have any ideas how to do this or what plants to use as a filter please tell me. thanks.

i know that most mosses act as great filters, i dont know if there are any plants that will be able to withstand the basic (opposite from acidic) water from the soap however. there may be some that prefer slightly alkaline conditions which would probably do better. I know that sphagum moss is a good moss to get water from because it naturally purifies it, but thats because it procudes its own iodine-like substance which kills microorganisms and other waterbourne pathogens. I dont think its meant for taking soap out of the water…
