Hi we don’t have a drinkable water system in our RV (we could drink it but it doesn’t taste good) and was wondering if anyone uses a PUR or other type water purifier for drinking water?

Thanks!

I been trying to clean and rince my new cooler but the fabric smell of plastic is still present. Any advice on how to eliminate or at least reduce this faul odor in my drinking water. Help please. Thank you.

We have a well that produces good water, but at different times of the year, the water becomes cloudy, brown, etc. The well is nowhere near the septic tank, of course, so any filtering system that contains a backflush process is out of the question…nowhere for the waste water to go.

The system has a pressure pump (set to 55 PSI) and a large accumulator tank. From there, the 2" pipe goes to irrigation and to the house. I know I’ll have to re-plumb most of that to separate the outside from the house water. What kind of filter do I need? There are only 2 of us, so our use isn’t huge. I just want to keep the discoloration and scale down. This is Oregon and the water is fairly good. We will continue to use either Brita or a filter for the drinking water. There seems to be a very wide range of products from to well over 00. I just want to find something that works. Not sure if I need to worry about UV??? Thanks
I’ve used Culligan elsewhere. Overpriced to say the least, but that system requires backflush…where the flushing water must go into a septic tank/sewer…which is not accessible.

County doesn’t provide a testing service here…
The output of the pump and accumulator goes directly into the concrete of the well-house. Two pipes…one for irrigation and one for the house. They are connected with no backflow device as they are inside the building. Pipe now goes to a valve then Ts to the house line (in concrete) and to a 2nd valve that Ts to the irrigation line (in concrete) and to a faucet attached to the outside.

I need to re-plumb so I have more control (to turn off house but leave on irrigation, etc), and I can figure that out…but where and how and what sort of backflush relief can I get…and I don’t want the released water to fall inside the wellhouse. Any links to what I need to buy/do? Thanks…backflush is clearly a concern now..

It has a spout on the bottom and is labelled "drinking water".

I am planning to soften my water for all round benifit in the home.

I also want to purify my drinking water through a reverse osmosis system.

Can these 2 things be used together or can only 1 system be used?

If they can be used together can a reverse osmosis system purify softened water safely for drinking?

with global warming coming on, and an expected loss of alot of the drinking water i think the world should build a bunch of these plants near the ocean and that will solve our water problems

Also, if you could teach me how to clean the 5 ltr gallon water container. Thanks
What bleach particularly you mean? Isn’t it harmful to ingest if it contaminates my drinking water? Can I use baking soda instead?

Which is best for home drinking water filtering system?

less expensive, cheaper filter, doesn’t occupy much space,

need your recommendation, thank you.

I saw a water filter system in someone’s house a few years ago that was homemade and cannot remember how they said they made it. I remember there was some shiny stones – looked like they were polished but not fancy – on the bottom of a plastic water container. She said, if memory serves, that they were using a filter for an aquarium containing carbon and chunky rocks bought at the store. They said they filled it with the tap water. The siggot was on the bottom and the used it for their coffee, ice cubes and drinking water. She said they simply changed the filter once per month and cleaned the rocks. My questions are these: has anyone ever heard of such a homemade system? If so, what type of filter is she talking about? Is the 1 x per month accurate? Is is safe to use as I have small children in my home? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Is there an intermediate step that involves chloroform in the creation of bromoform, or are they independent reactions? What exactly is the source of the methane? Details please- my public drinking water was just announced as being in excess of the standards!!!

The water jug is the type you would get at the office or home. Blue and see-through and fits on a water cooler. I want to make a spigot out of it for drinking water while camping. It fits on the top of the jug with a hose coming off it.

What is polyelctrolyte added for in the chemical treatment of drinking water?

Dual media filter is a type of filter used to purify drinking water. It is used by water treatment companies. I want to know the advantages and disadvantages of using dual media filter.

I have hard water with lots of iron in it. We have a water softener to combat this. If we didn’t have the softener, our water would be orange coming out of our faucets. It’s not that good to be drinking water with the softener salt in it, especially now that I’m pregnant. What would be the best water filter for me? Should I get one that attaches to the faucet or a pitcher with a filter?
