I have a 4-year-old Kinetico water filtration system and softener. In the past six months, I have started having salty water from the tap on occasion. When we had the filter serviced, we mentioned this and he said it was normal but it never used to do it. I think either the filter or the softener isn’t functioning properly but don’t know what to do about it.
I am asking mainly to see if there is a three stage filter instead of Brita’s 2 stage "on tap" filter.
Our new tenants recently changed the filter, didn’t help. The problem tap is in an upstairs master bath. They say this is the only faucet in the whole house with this problem. We lived in the house 4 yrs, never had any problems w/water. It’s a sandpoint well. House is in interior Alaska, built in 1999.
I was thinking about getting a reverse osmosis water filter for my condo. I was told that RO systems use a lot of electricity. From my understanding, RO systems use water pressure to pull the water through the filter membrane.
Do RO filters systems use a lot of electricity to pump the water through the filter membrane? Or is it just the pressure from the tap?
I just bought a water cooler but opted not to have water delivered. The water jug I am using has a removable lid. I pour filtered water in the top from the tap. Then, I place the lid back on. The jug does not have a seal. Will this water go bad? I refill it about every two days. The water in the tubes in the cooler is probably okay but what about the water that sits in the jug? Thanks
