We have a house water filter so this rust is from the pipe that provides water to the second floor bathroom.

We just bought our house two months ago, we had the water tested because we are on a well and you can’t buy a house without testing the water when you on a well. Anyway the test came back fine and after moving in we have noticed sediment on our dishes, people say it is calcium. So we put a water filter in and it filters the whole house… The filter is clear and we noticed after 3-4 weeks it seems to be growing a greenish algea/moss. We noticed this after a weekend away from home without the water being used. Is this normal? Is it because it is a clear filter? The filter is working great it is taking out so much we never knew we were drinking.

I am looking for a water filter for my entire home.

I would like to have chlorine removed as well as bacteria and chemicals and pharmaceuticals (if possible). I would also like the water to be alkalinized at some point after the filtering.

The aquasana looks okay but I think it only removes chlorine, and I dont see anything on here that says reverse osmosis. Im really not even sure what I should be looking for, for a reasonable price.

Can anyone help?

i’ve noticed a definite difference in the quality of water from los angeles vs. las vegas or hawaii. i’ve recently vacationed at the latter cities and despite my frequent showers (at the beach, pool and hotel rooms) my skin didn’t feel dry at all.
But once i returned to my home my hair and skin have felt significantly dryer. i’ve been considering a water filter for the whole house or a soft water system. by the way, i’m not sure if there’s a difference. but i’m wondering if either of these will make any difference. i’ve already installed a filtered shower head, but i couldn’t notice a big difference.

I want a water filter for my house that will make all the water totally drinkable and good-tasting, or at least not bad tasting.

i live in north florida and have a well can i use a all house water filter to remove the brown

I am looking for a water filter to put on my sink faucet. Does anyone know what filter is the best for removing chemicals, especially chlorine and flouride?

I’m using a water filter for drinking which consist of a four stage catridge: activated carbon, silica sand, zeolite and mineral sand. Lately, I notice very small particles sentiment at the bottom of the mineral pot where the filtered water is stored. I believe this is from the filter catridge as there are large pores where the particles may pass through. Does this render the water unsafe for consumption?

why is that. it looks like a white dust in the water. If you let it set for a few minutes it will almost completely dissolve. I’d like to know what that is, and if its bad to drink.

the water filter is supposed to be really sophisticated, and be of better quality than arrowhead bottled water.

bought a very expensive whole house unit water filter by MAYTAG in Dec. of 2005. it has not seemed to work right since I bought. was installed incorrectly at first. recently had it corrected. still don’t seem to be doing like it should do
I spent a large sum of money for this and think I should be able to sell it back or have it fixed right. what are my options

I have hard water with lots of iron in it. We have a water softener to combat this. If we didn’t have the softener, our water would be orange coming out of our faucets. It’s not that good to be drinking water with the softener salt in it, especially now that I’m pregnant. What would be the best water filter for me? Should I get one that attaches to the faucet or a pitcher with a filter?

I have a water well. The well services my house and also a rental house next door. The water is very brown but if I put it in a vase after a day or two it clears and you can see the sediment on the bottom. This sediment is causing major plumbing problems: the toilets get full of silt and the works inside have to be replaced frequently, the screens on all of the water faucets and the shower have to be cleaned about one a week and we can only guess what is happening inside of the water heater.

What kind a water filter should I buy? I Googled it but there are so many different kinds and types that I’m really confused. I need a really big commercial kind to go on the well, that can make sure that clean water is going to both my house and to the rental house too.
The water is just light brown, a little murky looking with a slightly rust colored tone. It’s not dark brown and it’s not really gross. There is no noticeable smell. All of the sediment usually sinks to the bottom of a container in about 24 hours and leaves perfectly clear water with gritty, rusty stuff settled on the bottom.
I’m about 5 miles outside of San Antonio, Texas city limits.
