can i install a 1micron whole house filter after the water softener..i have a 75 mic and a 5 mic filters feeding the softener but im thinking the salt will clog the 1 mic after…Thanks

I have an old water softener from a previous house. My new house needs a whole house charcoal filter. Can I change out the softener media for activated charcoal and use the same filter for whole house removal of taste etc.? If so, what steps are required?
Thanks for offering your experience. RO really won’t work for me because of my water volume. Am hoping to be able to exchange the media for charcoal in a traditional softener.

I am in search of a new water softener and was looking at some of the magnetic softeners to get away from having to use salt.

check it out. the under the sink called the reverse osmosis filters cost 9 include install and tax comes with the carbon filter which you have to unscrew and put in new filter every six months. and the other one costs 9 with install and tax. with this one , you throw away the whole filter unlike the carbon filter one. which one is better. also there the whole house filter which comes with water softener and the under the sink filter for 00 with tax and install. any suggestions or opinions are appreciated. thanks.

i’m on a well,so i buy bottled water, but i want to install a whole house water filter and water softener for health reasons.i’m worried about washing clothes and taking showers with the well water my affect my family in an unhealthy way.thanx

I’m looking to purchase a water softener / water treatment system but i’m not fully convinced i need one. Is there a real benefit to having one? And who sells the best water softeners / water treatment systems?

If I buy a water softener that has a built in whole house water filter, do I need to remove the filter on my water dispenser on my refridgerator so that my water isn’t ‘too’ filtered? Someone told me that and I find that hard to believe, so I’m coming to the experts for advice. Thanks!

We have well water and were looking into getting the Waterboss 700; there are 2 people in my household.

I have hard water with lots of iron in it. We have a water softener to combat this. If we didn’t have the softener, our water would be orange coming out of our faucets. It’s not that good to be drinking water with the softener salt in it, especially now that I’m pregnant. What would be the best water filter for me? Should I get one that attaches to the faucet or a pitcher with a filter?
